Gadab Hasasa is one of the district located in the West Arsi zone of Oromia region in Ethiopia. Gadab Hasasa Organization was founded by Hayat Hashim, who was born and raised in this district until her migration to the U.S. in the early 2000s. During her trip to Ethiopia in 2022, she visited schools in Hasasa and witnessed poor quality education. When she returned to Minnesota, she shared the conditions of these schools with her community hoping to start something to help these struggling schools and underprivileged children. As a result this organization was established in 2023.
